Wireless Range Extender or Repeater setup can be done via WPS Push button or via Web browser Method using default IP address of Range Extender. Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 7 Technology Range Extenders can be configured using Router App using Mobile device itself. Mywifiext.net is default local web address used to access the setup page for WiFi Range Extenders (including new models). It works similarly to a router’s default IP login page — it only works when your device is connected to the extender’s network, not over the general internet.
Extender Setup Process using Mywifiext Method
- Plug in the extender: Place it near your router for initial setup (you can relocate it later) and plug it into a power outlet. Wait for the power LED to turn solid.
- Connect your device to the extender: On your computer or phone, connect to the extender’s default WiFi network name (SSID), found on the label on the device (e.g., “Name_EXT”).
- Open a browser: Launch any web browser (Chrome, Safari, Edge, etc.) on the connected device.
- Go to the setup address: Type http://mywifiext.net into the address bar and press Enter. (If it doesn’t load, try http://192.168.1.250 as a backup.)
- Log in or create a account: You’ll be prompted to sign in with an existing account or create a new one — required for setup and firmware updates.
- Let the extender detect your network: The setup wizard will scan for nearby WiFi networks. Select your home router’s network from the list.
- Enter your router’s WiFi password: Input the password for your existing home network so the extender can connect to it.
- Set the extender’s new network name and password: Create a new SSID and password for the extender’s extended network (or choose to match your router’s network name for seamless roaming).
- Review and apply settings: Confirm your choices and let the extender apply the configuration — it may reboot during this step.
- Relocate and verify connection: Move the extender to its permanent location (ideally halfway between your router and the weak-signal area), then check that the LED indicates a good connection strength before connecting your devices.

Configure your Extender as a wired Access Point
Range Extenders can be configured as Access Point, so that users can get Higher Internet connectivity with Rabe Booster.
If you’d rather run a cable than rely on a wireless link between router and extender, access point mode is the more stable option.
- Power it on :Plug the extender into an outlet and wait for the power light to turn solid.
- Set the mode switch: Slide the Access Point / Extender switch to Access Point, if your model has one.
- Run the cable: Connect an Ethernet cable from the extender to a free LAN port on your router.
- Open the setup page: Enter the extender’s setup address or default IP in a browser, then start the new setup wizard.
- Name your network: Set a network name and password for both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands.
Extender Setup via WPS (WiFi Protected Setup) Process
Wireless Extenders can be configured via WPS Push button method. If your main Router and Range Extender support WPS( Wireless Protected setup), you can configure Extender with Router easily using following quick configuration steps:
- Connect the Range Extender to the Power supply outlet.
- Make sure the Range Extender is close to the main Router during the initial setup process.
- Locate WPS Sync button on Extender, It’s like two arrows pointing in opposite directions.
- Press and Hold WPS on the Main Host Router and then on Wireless Range Extender for Three Seconds.
- WPS Pad Lock Light or Sync Light in certain models will blink momentarily.
- Wait for at least two to three minutes, you will get Three to Four Green/White Lights on Range Extender once Connection between Host Router and Extender is sucessful.
- Relocate Extender in between Dead WiFi Zone and your main Host Router.
How To Update Range Extender Firmware?
Range Extender Firmware can be updated via manufacturer Router App or via Web Browser using any PC/Laptop. Navigate to Extender GUI Webpage using IP address of Extender as assigned by Host Router.
Enter Username and login password for Extender. Navigate to Administration Screen, Click on Firmware Update Option. Extender will download latest Firmware file, in case available. Range Extender will reboot once to apply new Firmware changes.
New Technology Range Extender have Auto Firmware Update feature. Users can select Auto-Firmware update option, so that Extender Firmware is up to date all the Time.
How to configure Range Extender via App?
Set up of New technology Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 7 Range Booster can be done via Manufacturer App via mobile device.
- Download Manufacturer App from Apple store or Google Play Store in case of Android devices.
- Create Account, and Click on Add a Device Option, Add Range Extender.
- Follow On Screen options to complete set up process, Relocate Range Extender after initial setup configuration.
- Router App helps user to manage Extender settings via mobile app itself, users can manage Extender network from Remote location.

Configuring a Range extender with a Router app
Most modern extenders can also be set up straight from your phone. Download the manufacturer’s router app from the App Store or Google Play, open it, and choose Add a device or New extender setup. Plug in your extender near your router, let the app detect it, then follow the prompts to connect it to your home Wi-Fi network and give it a name and password. Once the app confirms the connection, move the extender to the room with weak signal and it will keep working from there.
In case users do not have compatible mobile device, in such case use web browser Method to configure Range Extender. Users can login to Extender web configuration interface page using Default IP address of Extender or Default Address as mentioned on Extender Label or Box itself. After initial setup of Range Extender, Main Host Router assigns IP address to range Extender. Login to main Router web Interface page to check Extender new IP address under Attached or Connected Devices Network Map Column.
Users can configure Extender using web address mywifiext net or mywifiext local or default IP address of Extender.
